GP earnings

All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings (e.g. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.

The Primary care contract negotiated in 2021-22 required GP’s earning more than £156,000 of pensionable income to self-declare their earnings on a designated website. This threshold of pensionable earnings increased to £159,000 in 2022-23 and £163,000 in 2023-24. No figures of pensionable pay for GP for the purposes of self-declaration have been announced for 2024-25.
